Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This regards a request by Broad Comm, Inc. (Broad Comm) for Special Temporary Authority (STA) to allow use of frequencies between 4535 MHz and 4685 MHz for the purpose of providing coverage of the Ryder Cup Golf event. The FCC has granted Broad Comm other similar requests for several previous events. Broad Comm requests authority to use these frequencies to permit use of portable video camera transmitters that operate in the 4500 to 4700 MHz frequency band, with powers not to exceed 100 mW. Broad Comm has discussed the use of these frequencies with the U.S Government agencies that operate in this band and received informal approval. Due to the low power and antenna height (approximately 2 m) it is not anticipated that any interference would be caused to other users of this band.
