Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This regards a request by Broad Comm, Inc. (Broad Comm) for Special Temporary Authority (STA) to allow use of the frequency 6425 MHz for the purpose of providing a RF link for a video camera at Aqueduct Racetrack Jamica, NY from the period of April 1 through April 30, 2009. The camera is to be used in a new safety program being instituted at racetracks in New York state. The long range plan would be for these cameras to be licensed by the racing authority for use at this and two other tracks. The purpose of this STA would be to test the camera during the current racing season at Aqueduct that ends on April 30th. Broad Comm provides radio frequency support services to broadcasters and and various other entities. The proposed equipment will have a maximum ERP of only 1.6 watts since its use will be limited to the area of the racetrack; therefore, no interference to other users is anticipated.
