Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This regards a request by Broad Comm, Inc. (Broad Comm) for Special Temporary Authority (STA) to allow use of the frequencies 490.0, 491.0 and 492.0 MHz (in TV channel 17) to test a new type of wireless microphone. These microphones will be used in conjunction with network coverage of the Byron Nelson Championship golf event to be held at the Irving, TX. A review of the FCC TV Engineering database indicates that there are no authorized TV stations operating on TV channel 17 within 150 km of the location proposed in this application. In addition, since these devices will operate with a maximum ERP of 5 watts and will be on frequencies in the center of channel 17 no adjacent channel interference is anticipated.
