Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation

Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Applicant is a video production company which provides video for broadcast, satellite broadcast and cablecast of sporting and other events. Applicant has certain LTTS, BAS and Private Wireless licenses for this purpose. However, the applicant has been engaged to provide video production services for an upcoming NASCAR automobile race in Daytona, Florida in February, 2006. Available channels for voice audio to coordinate video production activities are extremely limited due to use by car racing teams, security, and other operations personnel in the area and at the race course. Applicant requires the use of additional UHF channels for portable, two-way voice communications for this event on a short-term, temporary basis. Proposed is the use of 500-501 MHz, a portion of TV Channel 19. Applicant has conducted an interference study using the Commissions television channel database. The nearest co-channel television station is WMOR-DT, Lakeland, Florida, operating not less than 111 miles distant from the proposed low power operation by applicant. Therefore, no interference to television viewers is predicted. Should any interference be complained of, applicant will cease use of the 500-501 MHz band immediately, unless remedied.
