Intelsat North America LLC herein requests a grant of Special Temporary Authority for 30 days, beginning immediately upon grant, to utilize its Clarksburg, Maryland Ku—band earth station to operate in new TT&C frequencies with the Intelsat 11 satellite at 43.1 W.L. and 43.0 W.L., prior to grant of permanent operating authority. 13. Dortch Secretary Federal Communications Comn:nssmn 445 12"" Street, S.W. _ Washington, D.C. 20554 Re: Request for Special Temporary Authority _ Clarksburg, Maryland Ku—band Earth Station KA258 Dear Ms. Dortch: Intelsat North America LLC (“Intelsat”) herein requests a grant of Special Temporary Authority ("STA")‘ for 30 days, beginning immediately upon grant, to utilize its Clarksburg, Maryland Ku—band earth station to opérate in new TT&C frequencies with the Intelsat 11 satellite at 43.1° W.L. and 43.0° W.L., the latter prior to grant of permanent operating authority. Specifically, the antenna will communicate in the center frequencies 11448.0 MHz and 11449.0 MHz (downlink) and 13246.5 MHz and 13995.5 MHz (uplink). Intelsat has a pending application for authority to use this antenna to transmit in these frequencies on a permanent basis toIntelsat 11 at 43.0° Ww.L. Intelsat plans to use this antenna in support of satellite transition operations _ currently scheduled to begmin early July. Specifically, this antenna will be used to provide TT&C services to the Intelsat 11 satelhte at its current location of 43.1° W.L. and at its new location of 43.0° W.L.* In support of this request, Intelsat incorporates by reference its pending application for authon’w to use this antenna to transmit in these frequencies on a permanent basis.* .The application contains detailed technical information (in ~ Exhibits A—E) that demonstrates that the operation of the earth station ——at both 43.1° W.L. and 43.0° W.L. —— will be compatible with its electromagnetic environment and will not cause harmful interference into any lawfully operating facility.
