Petition for Reinstatement of Expired Earth Station Licenses

GCI Communication Corp (“GCI”) submits this petition pursuant to 47 C.F.R. §25.163(a) to
reinstate the expired licenses previously held by GCI Communication Corp for the following
earth stations: E020104, E020107, and E020133. As discussed below, GCI Communication
Corp’s licenses for these earth station inadvertently expired on July 8, 2017 – 18 days ago.

Through inadvertent oversight, GCI’s records did not alert it to the impending renewal deadline,
and, hence, GCI neglected to file a timely renewal application.

GCI sincerely regrets its oversight in not filing a timely renewal application, but emphasizes that
it caught its mistake only 18 days after the license expired and within the 30 day timeframe
specified in 25.163(a)(1) of the FCC’s rules. It has taken steps to ensure that no such lapses
happen in the future.

GCI uses its transmit/receive earth station in the conduct of its telecommunication activities, and
the loss of these stations would seriously damage its ability to provide telecommunication
services to remote Alaska communities. GCI therefore respectfully submits that grant of this
petition to reinstate these licenses will serve the public interest, convenience and necessity.
