                                      Description of Application

Viacom International Inc. (“Viacom”) hereby requests modification of its fixed Earth

station license, Call Sign E930074, to renumber Antenna IDs, to modify antenna equipment, and

to update associated antenna emission designators. No other modifications are proposed.

Viacom is currently authorized under Call Sign E930074 for two Scientific-Atlanta

Model 8016 fixed Earth station antennas under Site ID 1, Antenna ID 1 to operate with Permitted

List satellites in the 5925.0000-6425.0000 MHz (Earth-to-space) and 3700.0000-4200.0000

MHz (space-to-Earth) frequency bands.1 In this Modification Application, Viacom requests the

renumbering of the Antenna IDs for these antennas for administrative purposes. Viacom requests

that one of the two antenna units currently authorized under Antenna ID 1 be identified as

“Antenna ID 2,” resulting in a change in the antenna quantity for Antenna ID 1 from two to one.

In accordance with §25.118, Viacom requests that the equipment authorized for the

newly re-numbered Antenna ID 2 be updated from the Scientific-Atlanta Model 8016 antenna to

the electrically identical Scientific-Atlanta Model 8016A antenna, with the technical

performance characteristics, power levels, and EIRP as currently authorized under the E930074

license.

In addition, Viacom requests to change the authorized emission designators from

25M0F8W to 25M0G7W. The maximum EIRP density of the requested carrier, 25M0G7W, is

less than or equal to the maximum EIRP density of the currently licensed power on in this

authorization, and, accordingly, frequency coordination is not required.

A radiation hazard analysis for both antenna units has been carried out in compliance

with the methods described in the FCC Office of Engineering and Technology Bulletin No. 65.

The results are provided in Exhibit B to this application. In the analysis, Antenna ID 1 is

identified as “Ant5 11M, SA8016B” and Antenna ID 2 is identified as “Ant11 11M, SA8016B”.

The Form 312 Schedule B contains all of the information that is required by Section

25.118(a) of the Commission’s Rules. Viacom provides only the information necessary to show

the modifications requested for the authorization described herein. To the extent necessary for

the Commission to process this application, Viacom incorporates by reference additional

information as it was provided with the relevant underlying license application.
