SES AMERICOM stated that ts Petition for Declaratory Ruling, filed in April 2002 —— secking an CC determination that the public interest would be served by allowing the provision of DBS services from a Gibraltar—licensed BSS orbitalslot at 105.5° WL. —— should be granted now, in light ofthe compelling public interest benefits, subject tothe outcome othe intemational coordination process. SES AMERICOM also requested from the Interational Bureau an update on the status ofthe "tweener"rulemaking petition filed by DirecTV.
