Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:

The STA extension is required to support continued testing of a satellite. This is the second extension request, which is being submitted for continuity purposes. The initial extension request, file 0984-EX-ST-2006 will become mute due to the age of the application. Also, in accordance with CFR47 part 5.61 an experimental license application was filed with the initial extension request, file 0712-EX-PL-2006 refers.
