Special Temporary Authority application - Initial values - Purpose of Operation

Please explain the purpose of operation:
The license request is in support of test activity to transmit command and control information from a remote control unit to the Squad Mission Support System (SMSS) vehicle and for receiving video and other sensor information from the SMSS vehicle under the sponsorship of the US Army. SMSS is a small Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) under development, for the purpose of carrying all the equipment required to support a squad of soldiers in the field, relieving them of carrying all their food, ammunition, etc., during long marches. The hardware requiring licensing provides a command link between the operator and the UGV for command and control of the UGV. The system consists of a solder mounted WaveRelay IP Mesh Node 2W 2.3-2.5 GHz radio and a separate associated vehicle mounted WaveRelay IP Mesh Node 2W 2.3-2.5 GHz radio configuration. Note that the antennas being used limit the bandwidth of this radio set to 2.3-2.5 GHz.
