Please explain the purpose of operation:
Reverifying a subset of the heritage operational performance requirements of the transponder and interrogator. The tests are to verify teh correct transponder and interrogator operation of the AN/APX-113 AIFF system for teh Block 60 aircraft. The APX-113 have been in operation worldwide for several years and approved by the AIMS program offcie. The version used in the Block 60 program is different due to design changes to address component deminished manufacturing source issues. The new version is hardware upgradeable for future AIFF military Mode 5 operations.
