Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
STA for new mission for the launch and deployment of DigitalGlobe’s WorldView-3 satellite (WV-3). Although this launch is scheduled for August 13, 2014, signal testing is expected to commence in early May, and an effective date of May 1, 2014 is therefore being requested. The WV-3 mission is to acquire high-resolution, highly accurate imagery of Earth for commercial and government customers. Authority is requested to operate in two phases: (1) Commencing May 1, 2014 and continuing until launch for fixed testing, and (2) Commencing no earlier than August 13, 2014 for mobile operations during launch (duration 10 days). Overall authority is requested beginning May 1, 2014 for a maximum of 180 days.
