Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
EchoStar requests this STA to test a new wireless system that would allow EchoStar to supplement its existing video services by allowing it to provide broadband internet access, telephony, and on demand services. The wireless system is designed to seamlessly integrate with a customers existing DBS infrastructure. The development of such products would give consumers additional options for high speed internet and phone service. It would also allow EchoStar to match the capabilities of cable providers that in many cases already offer high speed internet service, on demand services, and telephone service.
