East Kentucky Power Cooperative, Inc., respectfully requests special temporary authority (STA) for a six-month period to evaluate the functionality of radio communications system designed to support the communications requirements of electric power generation and transmission of operative engaged in public safety-related activites. The test will not involve operations on channels allocated or shared with the Federal Government or in the Part 90 Public Safety pool.

Please explain the purpose of operation:
Evaluation of system for a electric power generation and transmission cooperative in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. To evaluate a system for electric power generation and transmission cooperative in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. EKPC proposes to test the acceptability and functionality of the system. The experimental activities will be conducted on a non-interference basis using a limited number of non-Federal government channels in the 157/162 MHz band that have already been pre-coordinated for such operation.
