Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
STA is requested to allow for possible in-home functional testing of a reference design of a wireless home networking device using an 802.11a transceiver with custom antenna solution not currently covered by FCC certification. STA will ensure any in-home testing is not in violation of FCC Part 15 Subpart C rules covering the intentional radiator. As the wireless device is a reference design only, no production of the device is planned nor any formal certification of the device by Intel ourselves. As a reference design, our customers may choose to adopt the design and proceed to both production and full certification themselves, independent of Intel.
