General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is in the business of
manufacturing and flight testing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) that
have a broad range of scientific and military applications for the U.S.
Government. GA-ASI requests these frequencies to support ongoing
demonstrations that are being conducted at the request of the US Coast
Guard under the U. S. Department of Homeland Security. Currently GA-
ASI is in possession of a Special Temporary Authorization (File 0342-
EX-ST-2003) that will expire on May 1, 2004. This application is being
submitted to request a six month extension to our existing Special
Temporary Authorization for the continuation of the demo effort.
