Washington, D.C. 20554 Dear Ms. Salas: Enclosed please find a Form 442 application for new radio station authorization filed by COMSAT Mobile Communications, a business unit of Lockheed Martin Global Telecommunications ("COMSAT"). Please note that COMSAT, together with Telenor Satellite Mobile Services, Inc. ("TSMS"), filed an Application on May 4, 2001, seeking authorization from the Commission to assign COMSAT‘s mobile satellite licenses and authorizations to TSMS. This Application has been assigned the file number SES—ASG—20010504—00896 by the Commission. In the Application, COMSAT and TSMS have requested that "grant of the assignment applications include authority for assignment to Telenor Satellite of: (1) any authorization issued to COMSAT/CMC during the pendancy of the Commission‘s consideration of the assignment applications or during the period required for consummation of the assignment following approval; and (2) applications that will have been filed by COMSAT/CMC and that are pending at the time of consummation of the proposed assignment." Accordingly, COMSAT hereby requests that the grant of the enclosed application be referenced to the COMSAT/TSMS application and included in any assignments granted by the Commission in connection with such application.
