In connection with your inquiry regarding the use of “X” as the second symbol in the
emission designator for the above-referenced application, BAE Systems has the following reply.

If the Commission has any further questions on this issue, please let me know and BAE Systems will
provide further information in response

-         “0” means no modulation, which is not the case with respect to these emissions.

-      The other symbols (1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9) all indicate that information (whether quantized, digital, or
analogue) is being conveyed, which is also not the case for this radar transmission.

Therefore, BAE Systems continues to believe that “X” is the appropriate second symbol in
the emission designator for the subject transmissions.
