Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:

LightSquared respectfully requests that the Commission extend LightSquared’s existing experimental authority (OET File No. 0201-EX-ST-2013, granted Apr. 29, 2013) to allow the company to complete the technical assessments previously approved by the Commission. LightSquared already has made significant progress working in close partnership with NTIA, NOAA, and other stakeholders, and additional time would allow LightSquared to complete those assessments—a result that the Commission already has determined would serve the public interest. Additional information is provided in Exhibit 1.
