Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This STA will be in support of a project at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. The project is to design control algorithms for multiple unmanned vehicles (both ground and air vehicles) for enclosed spaces (buildings). In order to test the control systems and communication in an interference-free environment, we would like to use the 3.65 GHz band for our testing. An STA is appropriate because the communication system is necessary for our research and culminates in a technology demonstration. Additionally, the communication system is needed for only a few months.

The nodes will each have omni-directional antennas and will transmit with less than 1.5 W ERP. The nodes will be configured in a small ad-hoc network of 2-4 nodes. Testing will last from 01-September-2012 until 01-January-2013.
