Please explain the purpose of operation:

The internal development of a dismounted soldier Combat Identification (CID) system. The requested testing at BAE Systems' Greenlawn campus will support the internal development of a dismounted soldier CID system that enables commanders to identify, and possibly locate, friendly soldiers in the battelspace. The Combat ID services is a self contained application that will enable the dismounted soldier to further help him in Situation Awareness information and last second fire decisions in near real time.
