Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
In order to address certain technical issues being experienced by a U.S. airline customer, Panasonic Avionics Corporation (Panasonic) requests Special Temporary Authority (STA) commencing on or about January 22, 2013, for a term expiring on July 1, 2013, to add the AMAZONAS-2 satellite as an authorized point of communication to facilitate continued development of its eXConnect, Ku-band AMSS system network onboard U.S.-registered aircraft operating in the continental United States (CONUS).
